ABOUT JODIE
I
am an everyday mom, wife, sister, and friend just like you.
I experience trials, disappointments and hurts.
But this is one thing I know:
God is crazy about me, He has never forsaken me, and
He never ceases to amaze me. I
was created, handcrafted, and designed for a very specific purpose
in this life -- just as you are.
This is a purpose that only I can fulfill. Though I am
a very natural and normal person, I can do very supernatural
exploits with God. I
will and do have a life filled with Grace
Works, and I desire to help you fulfill the
Grace
Works that God has designed for you!

The
Stehouwer Family
I
grew up in “Dysfunction Junction.”
Oh, you grew up there, too?
I cannot remember a time growing up when I ever attended
church with my family, but there always seemed to be a neighbor
wherever I lived that offered to take me to church. My father and mother divorced when I was six and my mother
remarried numerous times during the course of my childhood.
When
I was a freshman in high school, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord
and savior...and destiny began!
Hope was born on the inside of me, and I knew that there was
a plan for my life and that great things were in store for me as I
trusted in Him. As I
was the only one in my family who had found this new hope, however, home life was still a daily challenge.
At
the age of sixteen, I became emancipated and moved into a tiny house
of my own. My rent was
a whopping $85 a month! I
began working at age twelve and continued to do so through high
school. Upon graduating
from high school, I joined the military, and I loved everything
about it. To this day, I benefit from the principles that were
instilled into my life during that time!
After
a tragedy hit my life, I was forced to end my military career early,
but God still had a plan! It was shortly after this change in my life that God brought
an incredible church into my path, a church packed with new on-fire
friends! I was working
in the medical field at the time but suddenly had no desire to
continue; just the site of blood would make me nauseous.
I loved the trauma room, surgery, everything about it, but
now I wanted nothing to do with it.
God began to change my heart and redirect my path.
He led me to RHEMA Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
My
friend and future husband, Randy, also attended RHEMA. We were
married after graduation in June, 1990.
We began
pastoring shortly thereafter in January, 1991. Currently, we pastor Resurrection Life Church Mid Michigan
(St. Louis, Michigan), where our desire is to help people live the
lives they were born to live. Together we
have three children: Joshua,
Sarah, and little Justin. I
also have a daughter who lives with her adoptive parents in
California.
For fun, I enjoy fishing
on our lake, boating, biking, and all water activities. I
am an avid runner and receive some of my greatest preaching ideas
while running. I always have a book or two that I am reading
in hopes of being a lifelong learner. My husband is still my
favorite person to be with and family is my first priority after my
relationship with my Lord.
